We've seen this banner hanging in the back of a photo from a past Spring Sing. Is that where this image was taken? When and where did the event take place? What does the banner say under "UCLA"? Who are the men in the photo?

Thanks to several observant Bruins, we now know more about the military men in our 1950s Spring Sing
photo. Jeremiah R. Dandoy ’59, Brooks Baldwin ’56 and John Miottel ’55 all recognized their Theta Xi fraternity brothers
at Spring Sing in the Hollywood Bowl, circa 1953. “Theta Xi was heavily populated by NROTC midshipmen, hence the U.S.
Navy-issue khaki officers’ uniforms,” Miottel says. John Fuller ’50 was able to make out the flag’s inscription to A.J.
Sturzenegger, pointing out that “Sturzy” was a beloved UCLA coach.
