Founders' Rock
Founders' Rock, a 75-ton boulder was hauled from Perris Valley to mark the site where the campus was dedicated in 1926. Third and fourth from the left, Regent Edward A. Dickson, whose vision helped create UCLA, and Earle R. Hedrick, then professor of mathematics and later chief executive of UCLA. (Today, Founders' Rock rests just north of Murphy Hall.)
